IRL driver
Sarah Fisher has announced today that she will quit her role as driver to fully concentrate on her role as team owner. Ed Carpenter will replace her behind the wheel of the Dallara-Honda next season of IndyCar racing.
"By stepping out of the seat, I will be able to spend more time growing this team in the right directions both on and off track," Fisher stated.
Carpenter competed part-time in the IZOD IndyCar championship this year, taking part in six races and even taking a sensational pole position - his maiden in the series - in Kentucky, driving for Panther Racing.
Dollar General will once again sponsor Sarah Fisher Racing and the team has still to make public its racing schedule, whether it will be a partial or complete schedule.
