Ryan Hunter-Reay was set to drive for HVM Racing after testing with the team last week but, according to reports, the American will be announced as Vision Racing's second driver in the coming days.
As the face of clothing company IZOD's major new IndyCar-related promotion, the 27-year-old was felt to be a valuable asset to the series so Tony George decided to fund a second car entry for his own team.
Vision Racing had previously scaled back to a single car for Ed Carpenter, having dropped AJ Foyt IV due to a lack of sponsorship for his entry.
