Olivier Sirois leaves a good impression in Belgium at Euro Challenge source: Sportimage.net Quebec karting driver Olivier Sirois, participated in the last race of the Rotax Euro Challenge in Genk, Belgium last weekend. Although he didn't have any experience racing in Europe, he managed to finish 21st in the final. More than 60 drivers battled to qualify for the final during the last race of the Rotax Euro Challenge. After completing the qualifying session and three qualifying races, only 34 drivers would compete in the final. The young Olivier Sirois qualified to race in the prestigious final. "This was my goal because I knew it was going to be difficult to win. There were many experienced drivers. I succeeded in passing all the stages with a B," explains Sirois before his return to Quebec. "The final was more difficult but that didn't stop me from battling until the end," he explains. Leaving from 18th position at the start of the final, a competitor climbed on top of his kart preventing Sirois to move up the pack. Instead, he fell into last place and he did not give up easily as he managed to move up into 21st place where he finished respectfully. "It is an incredible experience. It is clear that the level is higher than what I have experienced in my career so far. Now, I am confident to race in Europe," he concludes. Olivier Sirois was supported by the Swiss Kart Shop team who in the past supported Canadian driver Raphaël Ranger. This invitation is supported by Kart Shop, PSL Karting VEGA Cup, Daniel Sirois Station and Sportimage communication Agency.
