After dominating the first three rounds of the 2009 season, Mladin and the Suzuki Yoshimura team will go for two more wins at the famous Birmingham (AL) venue this weekend. With five wins out of the five races held so far this season, Mladin dominates the rider championship with 157 points, followed by team mate Tommy Hayden (112 points), privateer Geoff May (92) and third tem mate Blake Young (89).
With 14 races to go, there is the distinct possibility that Mladin may sweep the season, adding drama to his domination, on his way to becoming the winningest rider in top level AMA history, a record presently held by Miguel Duhamel, who has been left without a Superbike ride so far this year. With 26 entries in Superbike and 46 in Supersport, racing will be spectacular, except perhaps for the Superbike lead, where drama and expectations will provide the necessary interest.
