Although no official confirmation has been released by the newly formed team Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, reports in the press are stating that it will close down its Nationwide operation. This information has been reported by crew chief Brad Parrott.
Parrott stated to SceneDaily.com that he, seven of his crew members were informed of the decision to close down the team on Monday. Driver Bryan Clauson, who's still under contract, has also been told to look elsewhere for employement. The reason would be link to the fact that primary sponsor Fastenal has decided to move on with another NASCAR team. Well informed sources told SceneDaily.com that part of Fastenal's deal was predicated on money from Dodge and that Earnhardt Ganassi is believed to be switching to Chevrolet's.
