No one was surprised to see Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) win the O'Reilly 300 NASCAR Nationwide race at the Texas Motor Speedway. But he did it in a grand fashion leading 178 of the 200 laps.
Kyle is also the first Nationwide driver to win from the pole at the Texas Motor Speedway. And this was Kyle Busch's third win in a row at that speedway. Oh yeah! By the way, there was also a race behind Busch. The last restart some seven laps to the end started a nice fight for second place including Brad Keselowski (Chevy No 88), Joey Logano (Camry No 20), Carl Edwards (Ford No 60) and Tony Stewart (Chevy No 33). Unfortunately, Logano hit Edwards who bounced off the wall and that allowed Stewart to chase Busch. But there were no yellow flag and Stewart ran out of time and had to settle for second. Keselowski ended up third followed by David Ragan (Ford No 6) and Matt Kenseth (Ford No 16). Logano was credited with the 12th spot, Edwards with the 18th. Edwards still leads the championship but with only 38 points going to Nashville next Saturday. There were 6 lead changes between 4 drivers but only 4 yellow flag situations for 18 laps. Kyle Busch's average speed for the race was 144.083 mph. By the way, in order to respect the new NASCAR rule in Nationwide that makes it mandatory to run two races in a row with the same engine, Kyle did not do the traditional winner's tire burnout to save his own engine. Instead, as his brother Kurt did a few weeks ago at Atlanta in Sprint Cup, he celebrated by doing a victory lap...backwards!
