It appears the Indy Racing League (IndyCar series) could be interested in filling the vacant spot left by the cancellation of the Canadian Grand Prix.
"All it takes is a phone call to ask if we're interested in looking at a potential date," said John Griffin, a spokesperson for IRL president Tony George. The Indy Racing League could be interested in filling the vacant spot left by the cancellation of the Canadian Grand Prix and it wouldn't be the first time the city of Montreal and the IndyCar have held discussions on an open-wheel race. Back in 2006, the IRL thought it had a handshake agreement with promoter Normand Legault to be part of the NASCAR Nationwide Series weekend, but finally the deal never materialised. We joined the officials of GPF1 in the afternoon, and they indicated that no one from the IndyCar series had contacted them yet. Photos: Philippe Champoux - Auto123.com
