Ducati's Casey Stoner did not lose any time
after his victory in Valencia by setting the fastest time of the day in
what is the first post-season MotoGP test on the Spanish circuit.
Top riders Dani Pedrosa (Honda) and Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) were also on hand with second and third place. The test was out of the ordinary as many drivers had their first test with their new teams; Nicky Hayden moved to Ducati, Andrea Dovizioso took his place at Repsol Honda, Marco Melandri switched to Kawasaki, and Toni Elias moved back to Gresini Honda. Sete Gibernau made his comeback with Onde Ducati while 250cc graduates Mika Kallio and Yuki Takahashi were in action for Alice Ducati and JiR Team Scot Honda, and Niccolo Canepa alongside Kallio at Alice. The test was also the first run on Bridgestone tyres for all the riders that raced with Michelin this year. Pos Rider Team Time 1. Casey Stoner Ducati Marlboro Team 1:32.464 2.
