Jeremy Mayfield, who has struggled to secure a full-time NASCAR drive ever since he was released from Evernham Motorsports in 2006, will drive for his own newly formed team in the 2009 season.
Mayfield announced he will be co-owner of Mayfield Motorsports, which will run the No.41 Toyota in a partnership with entrepreneur Gary Smith, chairman and CEO of Big Red Inc., which owns the All Sport brand of sports drinks. Mayfield Motorsports plans to run the whole season and Mayfield will attempt to qualify for the season-opener at Daytona in two week's time through the Gatorade Duels. Photos: NASCAR - Getty Images
