Ford has confirmed its commitment to the FIA World Rally Championship by announcing its continued participation for the next two seasons. The announcement was made in Finland this evening, the day before the start of the ninth round of this year's championship. Ending months of speculation, the team confirmed it will retain its current driver line-up of Mikko Hirvonen/Jarmo Lehtinen and Jari-Matti Latvala/Miikka Anttila for 2010 and 2011. The cars Hirvonen and Latvala will drive were also announced. The Focus RS World Rally Car will remain for the 2010 season but in 2011 the team will switch to the all-new Ford Fiesta S2000, fitted with a 1600cc turbo charged engine. Senior partners BP and Abu Dhabi will continue to support Ford's WRC programme, which will be run in partnership with British based rally specialists M-Sport. Photos: Ford
