2015 BMW 4 Series

Bought secondhand with 100,000k on the clock and now 120. I have owned 9 bmws''s all secondhand. Worst: E34 v8 with nicasil bore issues and too long a list of maintenance. Best - the 428i I now have. Its an auto - and I dont get why reviewers all seem to think a manual is so important because they are fiddly to drive in traffic and nowhere near as smooth as the auto. If you want to mess around on twisty bits, the auto is fine. ( I have owned manuals and I "get it" about shifting your gears.) No rattles, squeaks or thumps to date. Maintenance is routine and if your a modest mechanic, routine work is no harder than anything else. Keen on: Torque off idle, fuel economy, sharp shifting auto, road feel, cargo space, cabin layout. Not Keen on: Stop start system, some genuine brand parts costs, brake dust. Want: A new 430i.
