    Rust

I wanted to take this opportunity to voice my displeasure with a Mazda vehicle we purchased. Our 2010 Mazda 5 was purchased in 2011 (Kanata Mazda) and we noticed rust on the two rear wheel wells of the vehicle within the 5 year warrantee period. We brought it in for servicing at Kanata Mazda in Ottawa and they sent the car out to fix the rust (Sept 11, 2015). However, shortly afterwards, we noticed the rust had come back. I reached out to Regis (service manager @ Kanata Mazda) and he mentioned that he could not help us as we were outside of the 5 year warrantee window. The rust of the wheel well should not have come back. This tells me that the work was sub par and should be fixed by Kanata Mazda. I am very disappointed there isn't some form of warrantee or guarantee on the work that Kanata Mazda did even if it is sent to a 3rd party. Completely unacceptable. My family and I gave Kanata Mazda the opportunity to make it right and they failed. We also contacted Mazda Canada and they basically left it in the hands of the individual dealerships. To make matter worse, we purchased the electronic module for $1,000 which has a 10 year lifespan. This service is subcontracted out to a 3rd party CarStar (1075 Richmond Rd, Ottawa) and they have been giving me the run around. Kanata Mazda or Mazda Canada will not help and told us it is up to us to work with the 3rd party. If we knew this, we would not have purchased the rust inhibitor. Stay away they are crooks and they got the sale and they have washed their hands of us. We were upsold on the rust-inhibiting module and if the module was doing what it was suppose to be doing we would not be experiencing the rust so early in the lifespan of the vehicle. Stay away from Kanata Mazda and Mazda’s in general. Do not buy any rust module as they are a scam but Mazda is ok selling it to their customers. They should be ashamed of themselves. https://ecclesautoservice.ca/do-electronic-rust-protectors-work/ Don’t try and leave a google review on their site as they will delete if you don’t like what you have to say. Seems like they are cherry picking what the public sees. Lastly, had a conversation with Pat over at CarStar and let’s just say it was a one-way conversation. He raised his voice spoke over me the entire time and he eventually hung up on me. No very professional or a poor customer experience. The only reason Pat picked up the phone to call me was because Kanata Mazda reached out to him that I left a negative on their site – which were deleted each time I reposted.
