Ya, run away from this place!

Buy wherever you like but here’s the experience I had with this company. Bought a brand new (Canadian Made Trailer - $8,609.00) 6x14 aluminum enclosed trailer around the end of November 2019. Pulled it around for no more than 5hrs in our slushy n’ salty road conditions and eventually brought to the neighborhood self serve car wash for a wash. Afterwards, I noticed the checker plate cladding/trim became chalky and wouldn’t shine anymore. Called them and they’re blaming the pre-soak that the car wash uses. Thousands upon thousands of people have used this (pre-soak) on their vehicles without incident. My trailer has a ramp and the locking mechanisms on it are still looking ok but the side door lock has a nasty looking rust ring around where the bolt is. Again. they’re blaming the pre-soak. The aluminum side door latch that holds the door open doesn’t even look like aluminum anymore and it’s making a drip mark that won’t go away. Again, blaming the Pre-soak! The CAULKING around the driver’s side fender is almost non-existent and the passenger side is just starting to diminish. Again, Pre-soak! Found a loose exterior screw on the v-nose that secures the checker plate, tried to tighten it, it was stripped! Out of the remaining 125 exterior screws 7 were stripped. A good portion were in fact stone tight and a great deal of them were anywhere from a 90 degree turn from being tight to 720 degrees from being tight. They say they don’t tighten them down on purpose! So, why were some tight, tight?? Their remedy (aluminum) bring the trailer back and they’ll cut out parts of the aluminum and send it out to a lab to see what compromised the aluminum with ZERO mention of what happens after these tests take place! Their remedy for the stripped screws! Bring it back but it will look like we’ve tightened them with a sledge hammer in the Sun (whatever that means…their words!) Been a long a weary battle for me and my eighty six hundred dollar trailer is nowhere near the trailer I had thought I was buying. Their marketing and sales ploys are exactly what led me to this place and if you read their warranty, it’s definitely not in the consumer’s best interest….ONLY THEIRS! When I was on the fence ($$$) about purchasing a Canadian Trailer Company trailer I had showed them a pic of a similar (Brand new) 6’x14’ Cargo Trailer and they had told me that their trailers are 100 times better! My last attempt at getting this fixed, by them, on their dollar was to have this restoration company in Oshawa simply refurbish the aluminum and seal/coat it at a cost which was quoted in at $900.00 and they want nothing to do with that! I’m far from happy and I initially asked for a total refund and I’m sure you know where that request went! So, needless to say I own a trailer which was suppose to be able to withstand our harsh Canadian winter climate, has stripped screws and will only become worse and worse and worse looking, in a very short amount of time!!

Buyer Beware!!TROY’S TOYS & Canadian Trailer Company Is A Joke!

Whatever you do DON’T buy anything from Troys Toys or Canadian Trailer Company. It’s the same owner who used to own BJ’s Auto Sales down on York ST. Brian Cox. Went there a few weeks ago, and who do I see? Brian. I turned around and walked out. I would never buy anything from this guy. If Troy’s Toys is anything like BJ’s Run fast! All he did back then was quick fix for a quick sale!! Save your money and go elsewhere !

    WORST TRAILER EVER

DO NOT BUY A TRAILER HERE! I, unfortunately, purchased a trailer from Troys Toys under the name CTC or Canadian Trailer Company. Since they did not have EXACTLY what I wanted in stock, I ordered one. Within a couple months, the paint fell off the frame. I sent it back noting that all the interior must be removed to repair properly, and to take pictures for our records. They re painted it- but it failed again. I also got it back with a huge dent in the front. this time they took it and repainted it AGAIN and covered the bottom in some sticky oily crap. Their repairs of the loose trim was adding 6 screws, which came loose... Then one day I hooked up the trailer and about 5 gallons of water poured out of the frame.all the caulking came loose At that point they offered to buy it back. I took their ridiculous offer just to get out of this massive piece of junk. This mistake of buying one of their junk trailers cost me at least $2000 in down time, travel and the loss when they bought it back. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR- GO TO MISKA! These trailers are JUNK.
