2003 Pontiac Sunfire Coupe Overview

With an all-new Sunfire lineup due out in 2005, the need for a mid-cycle makeover was necessary to keep Pontiac's popular entry model viable in an increasingly competitive marketplace. After all it has been seven years since the model received a significant redesign, its new skin was well overdue. Easily evident in the coupe, a new swooping front end with a completely redesigned grille, headlight clusters, hood and front fascia with integrated fog lamps brings the model up to date. The more subtle restyling of its rear end, including a new decklid, taillights and fascia is tastefully executed. If you liked the Sunfire previously you'll probably like the new model. It's even more extroverted, highlighted by its 3-spoke chromed wheel covers. Four new colors add to the excitement, Electric Blue Metallic, Liquid Gray Metallic, Summit White and Victory Red.
