2008 Ford Taurus at the 2007 Toronto Auto Show (VIDEO)

More power and updated styling is on the menu for next year's Five Hundred, now known as the Taurus. Ford has decided to revive the Taurus name in the hopes of improving sales. Next summer, the Taurus will host Ford's 3.5-liter V6 engine, which will develop 260 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque. Other mechanical changes include a revised suspension setup, which provides an improved ride. The Taurus also sports Ford's three-bar chrome grille and a redesigned front fascia, as well as clear-lens taillamps. Ford Sync will also be available in the sedan, which is a voice-activated in-car communications and entertainment system developed in conjunction with Microsoft. The 2008 model will get more standard safety features, including Ford's AdvanceTrac stability-control system.
