On the road, the car is so easy to drive, it is hard to realize it's a wagon mixed to a sport-ute. The car is comfortable, fast and gives the driver and its passengers a feeling of safety. Incidentally, there are quite a few safety items added to the car including side bags that act like a curtain for side impacts. They remain inflated for a few seconds in case of a rollover. There is a warm weather package that uses a solar sunroof to power the interior cooling fans in hot weather and that is not a bad idea at all. Off-road? You'd better believe it! If the suspension problem was licked by its original design, the undercarriage is protected by skid plates like a genuine off-road vehicle should be. The Pirelli tires on my allroad tester did not seem as aggressive as one would expect for off-roading but a short stint in a quiet trail proved they were sufficient to carry the car around in such a situation.
All in all, what stands out the most is the car's looks. There are absolutely stunning. Audi has succeeded into keeping the brand's identity but giving the allroad a unique look that integrates off-road aggressiveness and European styling. It's not a wagon, it's not a truck, it's...well, an allroad!
