Braking power is increased as well, as the RSX now includes larger-diameter rotors (262 mm/10.3" front and 260 mm/10.2" rear) - ABS is standard. The Type-S gets massive 300 mm (11.8") front discs with dramatic results - 113 km/h (70 mph) to 0 in 57.3 m (188 ft).

While it sounds as if the new RSX is all about performance, improvements in the cabin make the new model much more livable. Interior room has increased allowing greater leg and elbow movement. Additionally the cargo area, accessible through the rear hatch or via 50/50 split folding back seats, now allows room for two suitcases or two 9" golf bags with the seats up or bicycles when folded.

Silver metallic-face gauges add a high-tech theme that continues across the dash. Softer-touch black matte plastic is a big improvement over the previous model's hard glossy surfaces. Standard features include power windows, mirrors and locks with keyless entry, automatic climate control, and 6-speaker audio with in-dash CD - a dash-mounted 6-disc Acura/Bose system with 7-speakers, cassette and subwoofer comes standard on the Type-S. As well, the perforated leather seats in the Type-S are extremely supportive for serious driving. The base RSX receives cloth and pseudo-suede suede seats, while the Premium gets standard leather. A thick leather-wrapped steering wheel is standard on Premium and Type-S.

The RSX is extremely quiet compared to the Integra. NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) levels have been reduced due to a more rigid structure, increased sound deadening materials and higher fit and finish tolerances.

Safety features include standard front and side-impact airbags, advanced side-impact protection pads, dual front seatbelt pretensioners and the LATCH system for rear child safety seats. A theft-deterrent system and engine immobilizer come standard as well.
