Still Mazda's flagship model is wonderfully composed even when tossed from side to side down a winding stretch of highway, despite its dated chassis architecture. But while 8-years old it was well designed initially, incorporating a 4-wheel multi-link independent suspension, connected to 17-inch chrome-alloy wheels wrapped in 215/50VR17 all-season tires, controlled via speed sensitive rack-and-pinion steering. Braking is also quite good due to a standard 4-wheel, 4-sensor, 3-channel anti-lock system with electronic brake force distribution. While these features will help you avoid an accident the Millenia's de-powered dual front and front-side airbags should help protect you if you happen to be so unfortunate.

Modest but effective styling modifications were applied last year, improving on what was an exceptional exterior design. The interior design was carried over from the previous generation car unchanged, and includes a two-tone dark gray or brown upper dash section matched to a light gray or beige lower portion. The effect is quite attractive while completely distinct. Framing an attractive array of backlit gauges the leather-wrapped steering wheel follows this two-toned theme, bisected near its mid-radius, while cruise control and audio switches are attached. Almost every other conceivable option is standard, including remote keyless entry, a fully automatic climate control system located high on the dash for easy access, a large power glass sunroof with integrated sunshade, a power tilt steering wheel connected to a memory seating position system, plus leather seating surfaces with power actuation and heated cushions with a single-setting up front - the driver's seat includes a power lumbar support too. As well the windows can be operated even after you turn off the ignition due to the Millenia's power retention system. An extremely high-end looking 9-speaker 200-watt AM/FM/CD/cassette Bose audio system integrates a 6-disc CD changer into the dash, the only way to go, while a rear window diversity antenna pulls in radio stations quite well. A $400 two-tone exterior paint package is the only option with a $105 upgrade to Platinum Silver Metallic available.
