Powered by a smooth, strong 3.4-L OHV V6 engine, the 2002 Aztek combines the outstanding performance of Pontiac sedans with the versatility of minivans and the all-wheel-drive capabilities of SUVs.
As with the previous model, two seating configurations are offered — bucket seats in front with a choice of a three-passenger flip/fold 50/50-split seat or dual captain's chairs in back. The rear 50/50-split bench seats are lightweight modular designs that can be folded, flipped forward or removed to create extra space on demand. The rear seat captain's chairs have fold-down seat backs that also recline or are easily removable.
Pontiac Aztek's wide, low, and flat load floor provides ample load-carrying space once the seats have been removed and the fold-down tailgate is perfect for tailgate parties prior to the football or baseball game.
Other attractive features which proved their popularity in the 2001 Aztek include a variety of cargo storage systems, a sliding rear cargo tray and a reconfigurable rear cargo net system.
