Since my test was conducted in warm weather, I can't report on its abilities in winter weather conditions. How would it fair in the winter? Front-wheel-drive should help, while 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS Plus, standard on the Limited model, would improve stopping on slippery road surfaces. ABS Plus, a superior version of Chrysler's regular anti-lock brake system, senses the speed of the tires in a corner to help bring the car under control quicker. The front seats are nicely finished in butter soft leather and offer power adjustments galore. The back seat is actually comfortable for two adults while the truck is big enough for two sets of golf bags, a couple of overnight bags with room to spare for a cooler and picnic basket. Try that in a Miata.
Mid-2002 Chrysler introduced a sportier version called the GTC. Although they are on the right track, I think that they fell short in their efforts. The GTC includes a sport suspension, rear spoiler, graphite panel inserts instead of fake wood, sportier steering geometry and the availability of a not-so-smooth 5-speed manual transmission. In this class, unless you can build a smooth, precise manual transmission, don't even bother. Stick to the AutoStick, it works much better. The GTC is a good start, but they need to go further.
