That pesky little runabout was the source for its turbocharged 2.4-L 4-cylinder powerplant sporting 215-hp and 245 lb-ft of torque. It has tons of power in the PT and, despite the Kahuna's expected weight handicap, should be sufficient for spirited acceleration. Also like Chrysler's retro-rocket the Kahuna puts its power through its front wheels, but via a 4-speed automatic shifter. Its suspension is independent up front with a beam axle, coil spring setup in behind, pulled directly from the company's capable minivans.

That suspension works well for the Caravan, Voyager and Town & Country, endowing them with a combination of above average road manners and good payload specs. The Kahuna takes hauling to new levels with an ultra-flexible cargo area, comprised of four rear chairs that fold flat creating a functional load surface without the need to remove them - they also become table tops with integrated drink holders, go figure.

The driver's area is a slick combination of blue plastic surfaces and brushed metal accents, highlighted by three large round gauges on the dash and two bright aluminum pedals. The dash itself is an organically shaped adventure with a yin and yang twist, very artful even if it would be a pain to keep clean.
