It won't be a big seller compared to the mainstream automaker's traditional consumer products, with only 60 units expected over the first year, but Dodge will build more as the market demands. Plans have also been made to offer technical support for competitors at every major event.

Due to extensive use of SRT-10 production parts the Viper Competition Coupe has an estimated retail price slightly higher than $145,000 ($100,000 USD). Considering its 520-hp 8.3-L V10 delivering 540 lb-ft of torque, it offers a lot of performance for the money.

Other track-ready features include a protective cage, window netting, a fire-suppression system, 6-point restraints, racing slicks, a differential cooler, and ducted brakes. The only drawback is the new Competition Coupe can't be titled for the street.

And where can we expect to see the new coupe racing? When homologated expect to see the Competition Coupe fighting for dominance in American Le Mans Series support races, the Speed World Challenge, the Skip Thomas Viper Racing League, and finally the Grand American Cup.
