Those paddle shifters still connect through to a 6-speed electro-hydraulically operated Cambiocorsa 'F1' transmission, a 6-speed manual is standard, either of which controls the Ferrari derived 390-hp 4.2-L V8. It's a glorious drivetrain unparalleled in the industry.
Personalization is nothing new at Maserati. The company's Officine Alfieri Maserati program offers individual owners the opportunity to customize their new Maserati, providing an even more exclusive car than the stock example - rare enough as it is.

While the Vintage personalization package becomes available to customers starting in October, just when the 2004 models will hit showrooms, it can be retrofit to 2003 cars as well. Prices have yet to be announced.
Alfieri, Ettore, Ernesto and Bindo Maserati would be proud.
