I can't say I had a lot of beefs with the Speed. Despite its front-wheel drive configuration and associated torque steer, it still works wonders on the pavement. A premium car deserves premium drink, so gas was a little pricey. In addition, fuel economy is not spectacular but it's a small price pay for its racy performance.
Whether you view the 2003.5 MazdaSpeed Protegé as stock, like me, or modified, like my boyfriend, it's a seriously fun and flashy ride. The tuner inspired suspension, seats, and stereo all enhance the racy ride, making it something truly unique in a world of compact sameness.
