What's more, visibility out the front end of the car is great, but when it comes to the rear end, that is another story. The back seats are quite high, plus the headrests and C-pillars are both quite thick. The combination

of the two makes it hard to see objects and vehicles while backing up or parallel parking.

And another thing, although Suzuki tacks on a plus sign to the Swift+ model name, it's not anywhere near a plus size in the cargo compartment at 220 L (7.8 cu ft) when both rows of seats are in use. It grows much larger when the rear seatback is folded forward mind you, stretching capacity to 1,190 L (42.0 cu ft).

The Swift has great fuel consumption, only sipping a modest 9.0 L/100km in the city and 6.1 L/100km on the highway. (Photo: Alexandra Straub, Canadian Auto Press)

On an even brighter note, the Swift has great fuel consumption, only sipping a modest 9.0 L/100km in the city and 6.1 L/100km on the highway. I spent less than $30 on gas for the entire week, and drove just over 400 km in the city no less. That's music to my ears and money in the wallet. In addition, the as tested price of $14,595 is pretty modest, and easily within reach of most 20-something students or young families, not to mention retirees looking for economical transportation.

Although I vented a few beefs about the Swift+, overall it is a respectable vehicle. It drives well, it is stylish, is great on gas, and fits into all those tiny parking spots that the majority of larger vehicles can't fit into.
