Now that I have that off my chest, onto bigger and better things, like the amazing stability the Civic has at highway

speeds and beyond. I commonly find that entry-level vehicles can go well at highway speeds but can sometimes experience a case of the steering-wheel shakes when the car speeds up to and beyond three digits. Not in the Civic - it was nothing but smooth riding. No case of the entry-level jitters to report here and that's reassuring to know because someone once said, "The best way to judge a car manufacturer is by the cheapest car they make." Need I say more?

There's always room for more to be said, I guess. For instance, the Civic rides on a set of P185/65R15 all-season radials complete with wheel covers, front ventilated discs and rear drum brakes. A four-wheel ABS system and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) also come standard on the LX-G trim level, making it good for stopping in a hurry in either wet or dry

weather. In addition, other standard amenities include keyless entry remote, an AM/FM/CD stereo, power doors and windows, power moonroof with tilt feature, sunshade and privacy glass, as well as air conditioning and dual front airbags.

I can't say I'll be sad to see the Honda Civics, sedans or coupes, break free from their cocoon and morph into something less boring-looking and cooler. In fact, it's about time. But thanks to class-leading DNA, chances are the new Civics won't lose the safety, quality and reliability that they are known for. Because we all know good genes are hard to come by.
