Conclusion

Perhaps one of the biggest problems with BMW is that the buyer must pay a premium to get the bigger powertrains. At $40,000, a 280 hp Infiniti G35 can find its way into your garage. For the same price, you will have to settle for the 215 hp 325i. At the other end of the spectrum, a fully equipped G35 AWD with navigation retails for just under $50,000. The equivalent 330xi Steptronic with navigation has a sticker price of $10,000 more. Is it worth it? In my opinion, the BMW is superior in every way except for all-out acceleration. Only following a test drive will you be able to determine which is best for you.

Although nearly every review you will read on new BMWs will be positive, except those equipped with i-Dive, one thing must be mentioned: A used BMW is not as wonderful. It has nothing to do with the drive or the feeling of quality of the BMW product; it has to do with expensive maintenance and a reliability rating that hovers no higher than average. Purchasing a used BMW can be a very attractive idea, however make sure your budget allows you to keep the car running.
