Defined by Refinement
Along with a comprehensive assortment of safety and occupant protection technology, the DTS yields some pretty impressive stopping power from it 4-wheel antilock disc brake setup thanks in part to Dynamic Rear Brake Proportioning (DRP). A light touch on the pedal is all that's required to exert reassuring brake performance. Pedal modulation, although on the

light side, is easily managed. Emergency stops were straight, clean and quick- accompanied by very little nosedive, which surprised me given the vehicle's tendency lean if pushed hard into a corner.

But again, the DTS isn't about taking on BMW's 7-Series or even Audi's A8; it's all about the pleasure of the drive. GM has done an amazing job of isolating noise, vibration and harshness from the opulent cabin of the DTS. This spacious buggy is a modern rendition of the over-stuffed luxo-boats of yesteryear. It spoils occupants with luxury and comfort without the handling-baggage that historically deterred Baby Boomers from Cadillac showrooms. The DTS is nicely positioned between higher performing luxury machines - and often higher priced - and the non-athletic traditional land yachts driven to the golf club by the gray hair sect for a morning tee-time. Me? With male-pattern baldness and an ever-widening abdomen, I'm somewhere awash in the middle milieu, making the DTS the ideal luxury car for me.
