On the road
The steering feels light yet it proves to be fairly precise despite the lack of on-center feel. In 2WD mode, the Ram is very stable; there's no hopping with a loaded cargo bed because the suspension does a great job of levelling bumps and dips. The 4WD mode, meanwhile, comes in quite handy at low speed. The truck never felt unstable despite the load and trailer. At cruising speed, when cornering on a wet surface, the 4WD required special attention: the wheels seemed prone to skidding, although this might be more attributable to the tires than the drivetrain. The Ram's weight also comes into play, inducing noticeable understeer. In Quad trim with 8-foot bed, the turning radius is 7.68 meters, so you have to pay attention at intersections and during parking maneuvers.

The overall driving dynamics are satisfying despite the huge turning radius.

A hard-working machine
This sums up my driving impressions at the end of my 4-day road test. While comfort and build quality have been improved, the Ram remains a capable workhorse first and foremost. Its Cummins powertain and automatic transmission are one of the best combos in the category.
