The next-generation Wrangler (TJ) will retain its boxy styling for which it is famous. Jeep already made a mistake by dropping the Cherokee for the Liberty and certainly wants to avoid alienating the diehard fans of the original go-anywhere vehicle.

Based on a new platform called "TK", the new Wrangler features  a hard top split in three detachable panels. A soft top will still be available and retains the folding windshield and removable doors. For Canada, engine choices will be limited to only a 3.8L V6 shared with the DCX minivans. Output is 205 hp and 240 lb/ft of torque. It would probably be wise for Chrysler to look into the possibly for a V8 and even a CRD diesel engine to find its way under the hood of the truck. Transmission selections will be either a 4-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual.

Jeep describes the new Wrangler: More space, more power, more refinement, more comfort, more freedom, more Jeep.
