Unique to Acura is their Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) technology. This advancement apportions greater torque to the outside wheels when powering through a curve. Doing so stabilizes the MDX by pushing it around the curve. Conventionally powered vehicles rely entirely on steering force to overcome forward propulsion and redirect momentum.

The effect of SH-AWD is subtle during routine driving maneuvers however it can become quite apparent - and reassuring - when the vehicle is cornered aggressively or upon encountering slippery road conditions.

Acura's MDX is a rewarding, light-duty SUV  that easily accommodates a driver and six passengers.

MDX wrapped-up
Acura's MDX is a rewarding, light-duty SUV that easily accommodates a driver and six passengers. The vehicle projects distinctive good looks while spoiling its occupants with luxury and refinement. The long list of standard features includes an impressive array of occupant protection as well.

On the road, the MDX skillfully combines road manners with handling competency. Little road or wind noise penetrates the solid cabin, from which drivers are greeted by wide, unobstructed sight lines. The same doesn't hold true for rearward visibility. The sweeping contour of the striking roofline tends to impede visibility when reversing. Fortunately, my tester was equipped with a navigation system that doubled as a "backup" video.

Travelling in the MDX is rather blissful, that is until it comes time to pay the piper. This gent drinks premium fuel, and it does so quicker than its fuel-economy rating of 13.8 and 10.0 litres of fuel per 100K of city and highway driving would have one believe.
