Time to say goodbye after 8,000 km
Changes for 2009
The CX-7's maintenance schedule calls for service every 8,000 kilometres, and the big service stops are at every 48,000 km. A routine maintenance, including oil and filter change as well as a variety of fluid inspections, should cost between $50 and $70.

For 2009, the CX-7 gets more standard equipment. The GS adds heated front seats, power seat adjustments for the driver, a CD player that reads MP3 files, an auxiliary input jack and illuminated vanity mirrors. The GT gets integrated turn signals in the outside mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink and new alloy wheels; the Luxury Package adds Sirius satellite radio and Bluetooth hands-free calling. By the way, the front-wheel drive GT is no longer available.

Conclusion
We've grown attached to the CX-7 and are sad to see it return back home. The vehicle's driving dynamics and style scored high marks with everybody, but we generally feel as though the engine could benefit from a little retuning to reduce turbo lag and a more aggressive soundtrack to go with its output level.

As for this test vehicle's $41,445 asking price, sport-luxury crossovers such as the Acura RDX, the Audi Q5, the Infiniti EX35 and the Mercedes-Benz GLK350 also look good and cost only a few thousand dollars more. On the other hand, a CX-7 GS AWD costs $34,095 and is more likely to find the Ford Edge, the Mitsubishi Outlander and the Volkswagen Tiguan on its path.
