And the price?
Nissan wouldn't answer that question. The company wants to beat competitors like the CR-V and RAV4 at their own game by offering more for less. I managed to get the following approximations: the base FWD model will be priced under $25,000 (over $2,000 less than the 2007 CR-V FWD). All-wheel drive will require a premium of about $2,000. The most interesting and best-valued model, in my opinion, will be the Rogue SL AWD with Premium Package; it should retail for $29,300 -- $2,300 less than a comparable CR-V or $3,200 less than a RAV4.

The Rogue is ready to play with the big boys.

Odd name
Despite its odd name that often carries a negative meaning, the Rogue is an attractive vehicle with sporty, aggressive lines and a dynamic personality. On the road, it will leave many opponents in the dust while keeping its occupants at ease in a cozy environment. Nicely designed, efficient and comfortable, the Rogue sets itself apart from the crowd and learns valuable lessons from Nissan's other models. Competitors will have to keep a watchful eye on this one; otherwise, they will get trumped.
