2008 North American Car and Truck of the Year Announced at Detroit Auto Show (video)

This year, the panel of 49 automotive journalists from the USA and Canada have chosen the Chevrolet Malibu as the 2008 North American Car of the Year. The finalists included the Honda Accord and the Cadillac CTS.

As for the 2008 North American Truck of the Year award, the honour goes to the Mazda CX-9. Finalists included the Buick Enclave and the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid.

These two vehicles have been chosen as the most outstanding based on factors like innovation, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and value for the dollar.
