The new Tribeca will attempt to pick up where the first version of Subaru's SUV never really got. For 2008, the 3.0L H6 will be replaced by a more powerful and efficient 3.6L H6. Output rises from 245 hp to 256 hp and torque climbs to 247 from 215 lb/ft.
The exterior design also evolves into a more concrete and sensible grille that is larger and looks very much like the one on the present Forester. The raised hood line, new xenon headlights and front fenders give the previously timid Tribeca a more macho stance.
The award-winning interior is left untouched with the exception of third row of seats has been improved to enhance seating comfort.
The 2008 Tribeca will be on sale this summer.
