Technologies from the S80
On the technology front, the V70 and XC70 benefit from advancements made by the S80. I'm particularly fond of the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), which uses mirror-integrated cameras to alert the driver of unsuspected vehicles inside the blind spot areas. I also liked the intelligent cruise control with collision warning system -- perfect for distracted drivers.
Despite entering a new generation, the V70 and XC70 will be priced similar to the 2007 models (about $43,000 for the former and $48,000 for the latter).
As you've probably realized, I haven't mentioned the small 2.4L engine. That's because the 2008 V70 no longer includes it in its lineup.
