Conclusion
As with most passenger vehicles with astronomic levels of horsepower, driving the S8 is frustrating because you can't really exploit it safely and legally. But despite its sport-oriented demeanour, the big Audi can cruise happily and quietly at the posted speed limit.
It all boils down to personal taste. There's nothing to dislike in this car, and for the price, there shouldn't be. But the S63 AMG is mighty tempting for its more enticing engine, the Quattroporte's and Panamera's styling and sportiness are alluring, and the XFR's lower price is more rational.
If you have a chauffeur, however, and do choose the S8, you know that he will probably be greateful.
