Hyundai picks a fight with the big boys
No issues presented themselves with room or visibility, and the massive trunk should accept a 5-person complement of luggage with no issues.

Genesis handles the safety equation with a full complement of airbags, stability and traction control, active headrests and advanced braking systems. Owners can travel with peace of mind while enjoying their cut-price four-wheeled luxury condo.

The dashboard is a shameless copy of what you'll find in an S-Class.

Ultimately, this is a car with a lot going for it- not to mention a heck of a bargain if you've always wanted to roll in a flagship but can't afford one. Really, for the money, there's not much to fault it for.

Personally though, I wish the Genesis was a bit more original. Exterior styling is little more than a collection of visual elements from existing machinery, and even the dashboard is a shameless copy of what you'll find in an S-Class. Some say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery- though an opportunity to be more unique was certainly overlooked.

In all, Genesis certainly doesn't spell the end for flagships from Europe or Japan- but it definitely sets a new standard in its price range, which starts under $38,000.
