The power steering is light but could be more precise. However, the four disc brakes are powerful and easy to modulate. Also, the suspension is better calibrated than the 2007 model's; it's not spongy like your grandfather's marshmallow!

Kia limited the Amanti lineup to two models, Base and Luxury, the latter being more richly appointed, of course. The price difference is nearly $8,000.
Basically, ten specific upgrades set the premium model apart. Some merely enhance comfort or styling, like the power sunroof, electroluminescent gauges, leather upholstery and 17-inch alloys (instead of 16-inch wheels), while others positively improve the driving experience, like the ultra-powerful, high-intensity discharge headlights and the auto-dimming rearview mirror.
In the end, the 2009 Kia Amanti is much more pleasant to drive than most people think. And with its retro looks, a long Sunday cruise becomes a trek through space... and time!
