Szoke Dominates - McCormick Looming Big!
Jordan Szoke dominated the Superbike class at the JenningsGP track earlier this week, showing that he has lost none of his motivation after winning Canadian titles for the last three years aboard his Kawasaki Canada machines.

The real news is certainly the performance of 17 year-old Brett McCormick, quickest Pro Sport Bike over the two days of testing aboard the official Suzuki GSX-R600 prepared by Team Suzuki / Blackfoot / Picotte Motorsports. McCormick also turned in the second quickest time in Superbike, and was on a flyer at the end of the test sessions when he tucked the front wheel in the last corner and had to settle for second quickest overall.

Team manager Pascal Picotte was pumped at the results and prospects for the season. "With one rider only, we could really concentrate on optimising the bikes for Brett. He is learning to communicate the behaviour of the bike in each phase of each corner, so that we can work out solutions and make the bikes better for him every time out."

McCormick was also satisfied with the results.  "I'm happy about that," said McCormick of his Sport Bikeeffort, "especially after the last couple of years, where I've struggled a bitwith the 600. This team is super-knowledgeable and I've learned a lot the pastcouple of days."

Picotte is confident that they have a winner on their hands with McCormick. "Brett improved so much every time out that I know he will close the gap quickly. I kept watching him ride in the corners and saw where we can help him get more comfortable on the bikes and go quicker without having to drag an elbow like he was doing on his fastest laps. We are going to get him fast and comfortable over a full race distance, so he will have the energy to manage his tires and pace himself so that he will be able to put in his quickest laps at the end of each race!"
The team plans on at least one more outing before the startof the 2009 season, at Calabogie, near Ottawa, over the May 21 to 24 week end.
