Further proof that great things come in small packages
The only real problem with the interior is the overabundance of hard plastics, whether it's on the dashboard or the door panels. Over the long run, expect to hear some unpleasant noises as they lose their rigidity. Moreover, I was flabbergasted when I noticed that a significant part of the floor in my tester wasn't even covered with fabric; I could see the steel structure directly! How strange!

Those over 6 feet tall will feel relatively at ease even in the back, although their hair might touch the ceiling.

On the plus side, the SX4 offers a surprising amount of room. Despite its diminutive size, pretty much every occupant enjoys decent freedom of movement. Those over 6 feet tall will feel relatively at ease even in the back, although their hair might touch the ceiling. That being said, the seats are all very upright, so much so that it feels like sitting in a comfortable chair.

A dynamic performer
The Suzuki SX4 is wonderfully fun to drive. While the 4-cylinder engine lacks a bit of enthusiasm, especially during accelerations, it still does an honorable job. The 143-horsepower mill is somewhat noisy under acceleration though it keeps a low profile at cruising speed.

Handling is excellent, mainly due to the AWD system, the short wheelbase and the notable body stiffness. While you get the impression of sitting in a large sedan because of the high driving position, the SX4 is a true city car that easily threads its way through traffic. AWD and compact dimensions also ensure fun times in winter conditions.

The steering is precise and the braking system is always up to the task. The SX4 does have flaws, however, starting with the uncooperative transmission which requires a certain effort during gear shifts. What's more, the shifter is quite low and short, which means you have to stretch to get a hold of it.

While the 4-cylinder engine lacks a bit of enthusiasm, it still does an honorable job.
