A Less Expensive TL?
Keen Edge Dynamic Styling
Although little changes visually for 2010, the TSX underwent the knife in 2009 to adopt Acura’s latest design theme, referred to as Keen Edge Dynamic Styling. The process sharpened fender lines and inserted the familial Acura grille into the revised front fascia and nose.

Styling continues to look fresh, bold and distinctively Acura in nature. The aggressively shaped body surrounds an attractive, accurately assembled cabin constructed of materials that please the eyes and the fingers.

Seating is tremendously supportive and occupants will find plenty of room for their limbs at all seating positions, making this quite a realistic compact for four adults to occupy. A fifth can be squeezed into the centre position of the rear seat but that’s when things take a turn for the worse.

The TSX V6 MSRP of $39,790 is only a few hundred bucks beneath the entry-level TL MSRP.

Safety and content
Acura hasn’t overlooked safety or occupant protection in the TSX; a full suite of airbags is supplied as standard equipment as is a stability control program abetted with traction control.

And because this is an Acura, it’s loaded with luxury and convenience. Few options exist outside of the Tech Package, which adds a navigation system and parking camera among other details.

TSX V6 wrap

With its new V6 powerplant, the TSX has in a sense become a junior TL, and that’s definitely a good thing. The new engine really advances the significance of the TSX and its performance thresholds.

Yes, a few improvements are still hoped for, such as AWD and a manual gearbox. Despite these minor flaws, the V6-powered TSX is wonderfully spirited and enormously pleasing to drive, much like its TL sibling.

Is it a less expensive TL? Well, interestingly the TSX V6 MSRP of $39,790 is only a few hundred bucks beneath the entry-level TL MSRP. Go figure.
