Talk about teasing! For weeks, Acura taunted the automotive world with partial prototype shots of their newest upcoming model, which we know will be called the ZDX.

Though Acura says this machine ZDX falls into the growing market of so-called four-door sport coupes, pictures suggest that it will more closely resemble a crossover SUV. Acura officials are mainly quiet about this machine, though its shape, flexibility and likely market position will be somewhere in the ballpark of the BMW X6 and Infiniti FX35.

Expect power from a 3.5- or 3.7-lltre V6 and Super-Handling all-wheel drive. The ZDX may be the perfect vehicle for Acura to finally launch a V8 engine in, though such a move is unlikely.

"The ZDX prototype is unlike anything ever seen before from Acura," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc. "The prototype showcases an advanced level of luxury, style and refinement for Acura and highlights our commitment to advancing the Acura brand for Canada's luxury vehicle buyers."

Expect more information on the mysterious ZDX closer to its on sale date.
