Uncomplicated Pleasure
The CR-V isn’t a pavement-searing performer in the corners but it’s certainly competent under all but extreme conditions. Steering resistance is on the light side though and not the most communicative but it makes for effortless city driving on smooth and rough roads alike. And it’s on the rough where the CR-V shows-off its ride quality.

Unlike some crossovers with underpinnings of greater rigidity, the CR-V delivers a ride that’s car-like, accentuating comfort over off-road fortitude. And frankly, I’m fine with that. Despite its civilized manners, the CR-V can produce enough road noise at high speed to impede conversing with rear seat occupants; depending on who’s back there, that could be a good thing – or so I’m told.

Wrap

I spent two weeks with my leather-clad navigation-equipped CR-V and grew exceptionally fond of it, as did the others in my household. It’s a compact, versatile performer that charms its way into everyone’s automotive heart. Uncomplicated pleasure for sure.
