One item I did have a bit of trouble understanding was the differences between Freedom Drive l and Freedom Drive ll. Basically Freedom Drive l is the standard AWD system and it includes the diff lock. Freedom Drive ll changes the transmission and includes a crawl ratio setting in the CVT and is part of making your Jeep Trail Rated.
Town Driving
With that out of the way, getting back to driving in town, parking and just driving in general was a lot of fun. With the clearly defined edges of the jeep design, parallel parking has never been easier. The compact size means that angle parking is a breeze as well. Large mirrors, when set properly, make finding gaps in traffic easy and the power train has enough go to get you into the gap.
A Jeep Patriot may never be the ultimate rock crawler, but most of us don’t need one of those. What we do need is a reliable piece of transportation that can get us down the path to the cottage or to work in the morning and still let us have fun driving. Patriot does that!
