The model also distinguishes itself by its special rocker panels, its little rear spoiler perched high up top and its exclusive 16-inch wheels shod in the same V-rated, all-season tires as the cube 1.8 SL.
Inside, the seats are draped in a black and grey houndstooth fabric, also exclusive. The all-black dash is de rigueur for such a trendmobile. Thankfully, the sand-coloured trim adorning the roof and top part of the partitions keep you from feeling like you’re driving a hearse. The amber-lit dials also help lighten the mood, as does the twenty-colour mood lighting illuminating the cup holders, floors, etc., according to your whim of the moment.
The steering wheel is wrapped in leather and includes the controls for the Bluetooth system. The shifter and air vents have their own special trim and, much like the cube 1.8 SL, the Krõm comes with a transponder key and push-button start. Very snazzy indeed.
Almost exclusive hardware
For those times when you’re looking for a little sonic relaxation or stimulation, there’s also a three-speaker stereo system (two tweeters and a woofer), a Rockford Fosgate amp and an auxiliary iPod jack.
And to make parking easier, Nissan included a rear camera (very useful) whose image is displayed on a 4.3-inch colour screen. But don’t go thinking that the Krõm has the sole rights to this hardware. On the contrary, it’s also offered in the cube 1.8 SL’s optional Technology package.
Four of the eight possible cube shades can colour the Krõm: Sapphire Blue Onyx, Chrome Silver, Glacier Pearl and Espresso Bean.
