A non-hybrid offering hybrid-like economy!
The driver enjoys precise control over the stick, while the clutch feels progressive. The engineer from GM who sat in the passenger seat encouraged me to row the gears from second to sixth as quickly as possible in order to maximize the efficiency potential of the engine. That could very well be the reason why the 6 on the shift knob is circled in green...

And like every other Cruze, this one boasts a quiet, flawlessly-built interior.

Will you buy one?
When all is said and done, don't expect to see many copies of my tester on the road – maybe ever. First, manual transmissions are reaching all-time levels of unpopularity. Second, we're talking about a base model, here; the LT will likely attract more customers.

And so will the autobox-equipped Eco, whose fuel economy is still very enticing. Now, the marketing folks at GM must justify the price because, as it stands, the Cruze is more expensive than the Fiesta.
