The Volt will no doubt attract masses to Chevrolet dealerships, but don't be in a hurry yet, as Ewanick confirmed during the L.A. show that a mere 2,000 units will be produced by the end of the year. Production should ramp up to about 10,000 in 2011 and 45,000 in 2012.
Expect a long waiting list, too. Plus, some dealers may try to capitalize on their customers' burning desire to buy a Volt and demand a little extra.
It's funny because, not so long ago, that kind of buzz would have been generated by the arrival of a new Corvette or Camaro, not a compact sedan! Heck, not even the Corvair!
America, the Land of Opportunity, sure is changing.
