I enjoyed a few days of late summer rays during my week with the 2011 Mustang. I will fondly remember the open-air bliss that Ford’s retro convertible brought me those days. Of course, with West Coast weather, rain is never far away, and it found me the other evening on the highway.
The downpour was intense but it did little to spoil the cabin’s cozy comfort. I was impressed with how well the Mustang’s cloth lid seals out the elements and insulates occupants from road and wind noise, not to mention the din of driving rain. These are important factors for owners requiring everyday service from their high-performance convertible—and that sort of livability is a Mustang strength.
Value is another important factor for owners—and the Mustang delivers there as well. The base 2011 Convertible carries an MSRP of $31,399. My tester totaled-out at a much steeper $37,479 due to its interior upgrades, options and leather seating.

So in a word, I found “elation” in a vehicle that I wasn’t expecting to be elated with, due to its V6 propulsion. Sometimes you just don’t know how a stallion’s going to respond.
