Storage space for at-hand items is adequate-- but headroom is tight for those over about 5’11 and fitting four big adults on board will be snug. Even your not-that-tall writer found the IS’s driving environment felt somewhat coupe-like.
Incidentally, the trunk is relatively generous, and trimmed just as carefully as the rest of the IS 350 AWD’s interior.
Mostly well done, through and through
Complaints were minimal. As a compact luxury performance sedan, the IS works well and does everything it needs to properly.
Aside from limited space and headroom, there’s really not much to complain about-- albeit the small but unsightly lump in the driver’s side footwell that’s used to accommodate part of the vehicle’s AWD system mounted beneath. Cupholder placement is a little awkward, too.
Added up, the modest looks and heaps of power make this IS 350 one of Japan’s ultimate sleeper sedans.
Best part? The wife doesn’t have to know it’s such a missile.
